Hi.

I am running four 96watt compact fluorescent bulbs on my 92 gallon tank. Two actinic and two 6700Ks. (I said in a previous post that they were VHO, didn't know they were called something else.) I was planning to replace my bulbs and saw on Hellolights.com that there are 10,000K lights available also. Which is better? 6700 or 10,000k? I would like to raise some corals, I already have mushrooms, ricordias, and zoanthids.

Thanks for any input.

Hmm, not sure how I missed your question earlier :) I'd go with 10,000K myself since they are more aesthetically pleasing. But truth is, corals has thrived in my tank under 6,500-10,000K lights.

6500 is a bit yellow 10,000 is more white. I also think the 10,000 look better, but as Len has already said coral grow faster under 6,500. I would pick the 10,000 over the 6,500 also.

10000 also IMO I had two 55watt 6500's on my 29g before I switched everything to a 55g and I udderly hated how yellow it was. It was almost nasty looking when mixed with the blue actnic (just my opinion.) I think youll get the 10000 and never look back.

I see that you are going to order 10K but just to help. 6700K PC/VHO do not look yellow like a 6700 Metal Halide. I have a 6700K VHO, a 10K Metal Halide and a 20K metal Halide. The best looking tank is the 6700VHO, followed closely by the 10K MH and finally the 20KMH. I have not seen 10K VHO or PC.
