My new mantis yet to be named (we shall call him sissy for now LOL) hasn't come out of his mantis hole yet. I'm sure as with any new creature being shipped around the us or world to end up in a new unfamiliar environmrnt needs to adjust but when do you think he will make an appearance?

I have checked all through the night and day and i can see him peeking out at me but will just not come out yet. So how long has it taken for your mantises to stop hiding and become the ferocious predators that they are?

Also, what have you guys found to be the best foods for them? I have moved some various snails and crabs from my main tank over for him but what should I give him as in prepared foods? LN, what has been working for you brutha?

I use Freeze dried plankton, frozen squid, and dead guppies from my cichlid tank (guppies that die over night that dont get eaten.) I imagine silversides will work for good for it (depending on the size of your mantis, you might want to cut the silversides in half or thirds)

Ive tried snails..i havent found small ones yet..he/she tries to bash them but cant get through their shells..i also think hermit crabs will work..i just dont have the heart to feed cute little hermits to my mantis...i currently have 1 choco starfish, 1 ocellaris clown and two large turbos cohabitating with my mantis..peacefully might i add...
