Wondering something really quick.. is it alright to use electrical tape to tape some moonlight led's to my t5 reflector. They said not to mount the led's near halides, but aren't t5's cooler?

Will electrical tape melt? Any hazards here?

Thanks

Also ... the one has the LED's all individual along a strand... there are four total.. Anyone recommend any nice ways to set them up.. because with them evenly spaced on my tank, i can still see some dark spacing b/w lights (light shows up in 4 fragments), so it looks a bit unnatural. Any pointers?

You could drill holes and zip tie them up.

You'll have to either raise up the moonlights or add more to smooth out the lights in your tank.

I just ziptied the cord of led's along 2 of the bulbs (zipties actually around the bulbs). Could the cord, zipties, and led's that are partially in front of portions of the bulbs significantly block light? Should I find a new way to mount?

I would drill the reflector... if I had a drill

if you can stand to have the lamps off the tank for a few hours get some silicone and tack the led's and wires. Leave enough of your wire exposed beyond the tack to allow for bending and adjusting. I currently have 4 3.7w led's on my 55 and am adding another 2 today to help solve the center brace shadow. I'm running mine in series off an adjustable transformer, so I have an intensity adjustment.
