I'm curious about what people use in their tanks. What product/technique do you use to control:

Calcium
Alkalinity
Nitrites/Ammonia
Nitrates
Phosphates
Trace minerals
Fish health (i.e. Selcon, garlic,etc)
ETC

I want the scoop on all your tanks :D What's your supplement cocktail of choice

I dont use any. Just water change, though I do need to add some two part calcium additives soon.

I simply use tap water, just replace the water the evaporates, and have a thriving plant growth. I maintain calcium (400ppm) and alk (2.0 meg/l) by circulating 5x water through crushed oyster shells. Which also provide filtration.

I feed microvert, cylopeez (sp), raw shrimp, frozen cubes, flake and live brine shrimp.

and that's it.

Somehow, I knew what the last reply would be by looking at the thread title and the last person contributed to the thread...

Geez I wasn't implying that you need to use a different product for each parameter listed. Kalkwesser, b-ionic, calcium additives, refugiums, CO2, water changes, UV sterilizers, LR, Kent products, whatever. I'm just curious about how you use these things in your tank to stabilize the parameters I listed. What is your individual technique or combination for achieving the beautiful tank you own :D Each person does things differently and I want to know how different these things are.

I use the seachem calcium and alk suppliment. All the rest is taken care of by water changes.

Just B-Ionic, a little iron to keep the macros happy, and monthly water changes. Unless I can test for something, I don't try and add any additives.
