I'm sure either would work fine. I am partial to the Aqua C though.

Not sure how big you tank is, but Aqua C has always performed great for me. No regrets at all and VERY quiet. I had a Remora Pro on my old 55gal and I now have an EV240 on my 210gal. Runs flawless and it's very simple and maintenance free.

Both have worked great for me in the past, but I kept the EuroReef if that says anything. The AquaC was very powerful, but it uses a bigger pump and is noiser. If neither is an issue, I may recommend the EV120 over the CS6-1.

I have the EV-240 on my 180. I love it, but I find myself having to clean the riser tube every four or five days. The gunk I pull out is frightening. :D Other than that, I think it has performed magnificently.

I hope they are not too noisy, as the tank is in my living room right behind the couch it will be destracting when I turn the ole TV on. I have to crank the TV to hear it over my computer and the aquarium the way it is.

Noise factor isn't too bad for AquaC, never used euroreef myself, can't comment on it. If you got kids running around, you won't even notice the skimmer noise. Besides, after a few weeks, everyone will get used to the noise level and no more complaints.

About the gunks in the riser tube. I think it's the same for all skimmers. If you set it to produce dryer skimmate/foam, all skimmer's riser tube will build up pretty fast.

I set mine to produce slightly wet skimmate, with the collection cup drain tube to a milk carton, I only need to replace it about every 4 days.

I just bought a Euro Reef skimmer and really like how easy it is to adjust the riser for wetter or dryer foam. As far as noise it seems to be pretty quiet.
