Hi, I was away for 1 week. Just got back and realise my pump was some how switch off by accident by my maid. To my horror, saw red and green color worm like animal in my tank. 1 of my yellow tang died, lost my anemonies.

So sad. Can anyone advice how can I get rid of the worm and where does they come from. Did a check on all parameter, every things ok.

Most worms are beneficial, even the bristle varieties (although some are detrimental to corals). The tang and anemone's probably died from the pumps being off, lack of flow, and drop in temp if the heater is in the sump (no returning heated water source). One other possibility is the maid used some cleaner in the spray or solid liquid variety, and some of that got into the tank (spray-overspray/mist drifting, liquid-dropping some in).

Why do you want to get rid of the worm? If you want him out you could grab him with tweezers I suppose. Don't ever pick up anything like that with your bare hands.

It probably came in on some live rock.

Leave the worm!
It is good, and was probably feeding on some dead stuff (its a good thing, really)
