:?: hi all,just installed a new prizm deluxe.Has anyone got any tips on reducing the amount of noise from these skimmers,apart from the bin.the wifes gone mad.Would it still work effectively only run though night

In my experience, it doesn't work effectively when run 24 hours. I've had good experience with CPR skimmers and they are fairly quiet, but by no means silent. My fans make more noise.

yeah thanks,i'm going to run it at night for a while or when wifes gone to bed.didn't know if this was a good idea or not.wots a cpr

It will get a bit quieter once the powerhead settles down but they're still pretty noisy if you run them full throttle.

Running it at night sounds like a plan,,, make sure you start with a lower flow or you might wake up with a wet carpet. They take a while to tweak but they work ok on smaller tanks.

I have an Aqua C Remora on one of my tanks in the dining room, it is so quiet my wife did not even notice that I snuck it in. It works very well and makes a slight whir. It can not overflow. The only HOB for me. Andy
