I am looking for an adjustable dosing pump for my new Kalk Reactor. I bought a dosing pump that is not adjustable and it dumping in way too much kalk water too fast.

I do not want to buy a used pump from Ebay.

Any ideas without spending a fortune?

I guess I have to spend allot to get one.

At this rate I should have just gotten a Calcium reactor for what I paid for the reactor and going to pay for the pump.

Dig around. I saw others for cheaper, that is the only one I could remember.

I got a used litermeter for around $150. Check around you should be able to get a good deal.

Spectrapure's Litermeter is the way to go. It's the only perstaltic pump that Iv'e had long-tern success with, especially when dosing kalkwasser. Cheaper solutions are risky!

Yes. I will second that suggestion. Very easy plug and play design.

I use both the original Litermeter and Litermeter III. They're both terrific dosing pumps. The Litermeter III has more fancy features, such as digital readout and the ability to control multiple pumps; otherwise they're similar. I have the original Litermeter working with the original tubing since it was introduced 5 years ago. If you only need to dose one solution, the Litermeter is fine. If you're dosing one of the two-part solutions, then the Litermeter III is the way to go. I don't know if they still manufacture the original Litermeter, but it may be available used.

Get a digital appliance timer from Lowes or Home Depot and use that to control the pump run times. They're about $20 and programmable down to the minute so you can get fairly precise with it.

I am investigating the same issue, although I haven't purchased anything yet, including the reactor. What about a gate valve to slow the flow? That is what I am considering...a DIY Kalk Reactor, the AquaMedic SP3000, and a gate valve.

If the dosing pumps connected to a top off valve then surely it will only 'dump' as much as is required. If its because the Kalk's coming out to fast, then make the diameter of the tube smaller, i suppose you could even put a dripper valve infront of the doser to limit the flow supplied to it, but i wouldn't put it after the pump as this will cause backpressure and probably split your sillicone line.
