Hi,

My sequmose clam lost its foot today, but it still looks ok. I heard that some clams will loss its foot once it get big enough. I never had this happen to my clams before. Usually how big do they get before lossing its foot? Right now, it's about 3.5"-4".

Daniel,

It should be fine. After clams get to a certain size, they no longer need to lay down bysal threds to anchor themselves. Rather, their sheer bulk provides enough anchorage. Let us know how it fares over the next month.
