We have noticed a pretty signifigant trend in our store towards smaller tanks. Thirty gallons and under. Anyone have any cool setups or biotopes based arounf this? Trying to come up with something other than your standard blennies and hermit crab set up.

We have 2 tanks. Our 30 gallon is the small one. We have a pair of black percs and a Bangaii Cardinal in it. It has PC lighting so we also have a huge collection of polyps and mushrooms. It looks good and the Percs are always active.

been running a 37 gallon for 3 or 4 years with a mated pair of percs, a dottyback, a coral beauty, and 2 green chromis.

Never had a problem with nitrate or anything else for that matter and I don't even do water changes in the tank just top off with kalwasser.

of course i built up to this bioload over a year and i run mostly polyups, shrooms and soft leathers in this tank on pc's

Uh, hello? What Mihai said! :D :D

I know of this forum where there are a bunch of sweet little tanks this size. I'll tell you where it is if you're nice.

IMO 20 is a nano yet borderline, i dont consider a 30 a nano what ever the definition is regardless.. Yes matt has put together a nice list and it has a lot to offer when putting together a smaller tank :D

Hey Rover, you can't go wrong with Gobies. There are plenty of small to med. size, most are hardy, peaceful, and reefsafe. There are several that are md-water fish as well. The perfect small tank fish, IMHO.
