I bought two Tank Raised Ocellaris yesterday, BTW these are the only fish in the tank, besides the 2 peppermint shrimp and a pair of CBS....anyhow these two new fish just race around the tank...they never sit still, dont look like there eating. I got up in the middle of the night and took a peek in the tank and they was still at it, back and fourth up and down.?
Are they just trying to settle in.? Is this normal for these fish at first, when they were at my LFS they were about 10 per tank and they were raceing around in there too. Any suggestion.?
BTW this tank is 5 months old, water cond are OK

Hrm...I've never really seen clownfish 'race' unless there was a net after them. What exactly are your water parameters? How did you acclimate them? Are the CBS giving them any problems? I'd also not really panic until a couple of weeks go by...sometimes certain fish just need more time to settle in to their new surroundings.

Peace,

Chip

I would just give them time, then...they'll eventually settle down. I've never known clownfish to be hyper. :)

Before you purchase...how long has your tank been running? What kind of lighting do you have?

Okay, cool...I added mine about 6 months in. I'd suggest a purple LT or a nice rose bubble-tip anemone. :D
