D das75 Advanced Reefer Rating - 0% 0 0 0 Nov 22, 2004 #3 Yep, trying to match the colour. KH is low and appears so is the pH. Like go get some consistent reading before I start buffering. A meter would be ideal but a decent test kit is more to my budget now.

F Fatal Morgana Reefer Rating - 0% 0 0 0 Nov 22, 2004 #6 How about a cheapo pH meter that is in the form factor of a pencil? Most people in hydroponics use these. Not accurate, but should be better than colorimetric based test if you have issue telling the difference between pink/blue/purple.
