Impressive frogspawn sweepers today. Some were over 3 inches. Interesting to watch corals at war.

Nice pic. I have read that some people act. clip the sweepers off. Esp. on Galaxia. I have not done this, nor would I recomend doing so. What do ya'll think. Good idea, bad idea?

Whens the best time to look for sweepers on corals? I have a frogspawn, and I once saw one of it's tenticles get pretty long, so im figuring that was what it was. Why do they do this? When could it be seen?

Also notice the frogspawn shrinks up really tight when the lights go off. Is this normal?

Thanks

Shrinking when the lights go off is normal for most LPS. I have seen sweepers at various times on my LPS so I do not know when is the BEST time to look for them.

Why would you cut them off? That could lead to bacterial infections and other tentacles would just start stretching out and become sweepers.

agreed FM. I just got rid of my frogspawn because it was waging constant war on the nearby shrooms. fragged two branches off and sold those and within two months it grew from 2 to 3 heads and was almost as large as the original colony. it wasn't a pretty green one, just your average everyday tan. b-o-r-i-n-g! now if I could get my hands on a nice green one...
