Unfortunately my situation is changing and all I'll be left with is a 10gallon nano. Right now I am taking what I can out of my 55gallon with plenty of success however I am left with one problem.

One-Eyed Jack, the Yellow-Finned damsel that has been around for eternity. He/she is really too big for a 10 gallon but I can't see many people willing to give a home for him. He's fully grown so has lost a lot of his coloring and is now just a mix of purple and white.

What have people done in situations like this? I'll be sure to post on a local board asking, but like I said it's not exactly a show fish.

Thanks

Find someone compashionate enough to adopt him. You're right in that most people won't be willing to take him; if you can't find someone to take him realize that he'll most likely end up as fishfood at a LFS. It's sad but true.

You wouldn't happen to have a public aquarium nearby, would you? Sometimes they're willing to accept fish, but not always.

how close are you to your LFS maybe asking them to hold it til you get something a little bigger. if that dont work try to upgrade to 29 or 30 gal. tank. i down sized from a 55 to a 29 i had to put a large maroone gold clown, gold stripe grouper, dragon wrasse, and a yellow eye kole tang. i had them in the tank for about a year. i think what saved me was the 75 gal. wet-dry that was on the 55 i used on the 29. this is just food for thougt

I all else fails you might try a large rubber maid container. You could culture plants, corraline, LR, macros or pods there. Well maybe not pods. And use that fish to keep the bioload going.

Being as it is not a show tank it shouldn't take too much money. So it doesn't have to maintained in a sterile looking condition.
