As a newbie to the SW world I have been overloaded with what to get what not to get. I have been told just get plants. Get this $500 dollar skimmer. Out of these skimmer which I have seen many people talk about wich is best suited for a 75 gallon tank. I plan on having fish only tank with live rock and live sand. Don't know how much though. Maybe one day might get into having live corals ect

i personally use a remora on my tank, but I think you'd need to bump up to the remora pro for a 75g.

So I take it with 26 veiws the remora is the way to go since no more people have voiced there opinions.

I would get the remora pro. I ran a standard remora on my 75 gallon tank and it simply was not big enough for the system, it did little to help with nutrient problems, though it skimmed well. Also I found I had to clean the collection cup two or three times a day. The standard remora simply is not designed for a tank of this size. The remora pro is a larger version of the same skimmer, and I really believe you would be much happier with it.

I voted Remora Pro, and if there is a chance to upgrade the pump and you are able to afford it, do so.

I have the Pro and I ran it for a year with a Rio, and now have a Mag on it, and it skims even better than it did.

Oh, and ignore the Plant guy

I would go real cheap and have a better skimmer then all the above for a 75 gal imo,a 6" counter current homemade

I agree. If you're handy DIY!

If you're going to buy one, I agree with the others that the Remora Pro would be a good choice. I think the Turboflotor would be fine too although the AquaC would probably be more set-n-forget...

I have the Aqua C Remora w/ Maxi jet 1200 and it really is set and forget. Clean it out once a week and clean off the intake on the maxijet and you are good to go. Foam is a little dry, but absolutely no complaints.

Stay away from the berlin turbo IMO.The pumps are junk IMO. Skims well for a few months ten it does close to nada.
