What do think?

What do most people think of putting in a Under Gravel Jet system. For a SW tank. I was goingto be doing this today before I put in my new sand and coral and was wondering how many use it?

Im sure you wont find many people using an UG filter...Thats the old way of SW keeping

Not an undergravel filter but 5-6 jets under the sand peeking out that keep water movement over the sand and coral peice's. exactly like this one.

I think I see what you are talking about.

I've never tried it, but can see how it might be doable, but it would be a lot of work to get it set up and functioning before you start the tank. I wouldn't try it after adding live rock and other livestock.

AS of now my tank has no water in it. So I'll try it and report how it goes I have plenty of time.

I will have to admit that I have never seen the design of this system. My only concern would be how do you control the flow on these pumps? You don't want to have too much flow disturbing the sand bed all the time.

This is the setup I made It will be powered by a mag 9. Hopefully I should be able to push somewhere around 150-190 gph out of each jet.
