My boyfriend picked up a new coral for our tank and sent me a pic of it. (I have the best camera with me and left him with the "not so good one" so the pic isn't the best).
Well, it is a Diaseris which is in the Fungiidae family and I'm thinking this specimen is of the fragillis rather than the distorta species and is commonly called the Wedge Coral.

But that's about all I know. I've searched and can't find a pic that it resembles although the descriptions that go with these pics are spot on are far as the wedges are concerned. I'm looking for info on:
Hardiness
Lighting
Current
Feeding/Supplements
Tank Positioning

I can give it what it needs because there is more than one place to put him and more than one tank. But right now my boyfriend has him somewhat close to the maze coral you can see in the back and that Baby Blue Beauty is my pride and joy and I don't want the newest addition bothering him.

Can anyone fill me in or stare me in the right direction where I can read up on these?

BTW, the palythoa are not close to it like it appears in the picture.

Thanks

Well now... that sure explains why I couldn't find a picture to go with this coral. Does anyone know what is it? Is the right pic alright and the label at the LFS said Diaseris.

Any info would be appreciated.

I have a couple of Diaseris in my tank, they look almost exactly like a Fungia except they are smaller. When you turn them over, most of them have a wedge shaped mark where they have broken off from another colony.
