I was acclimating my new 6 lined wrasse and he jumped out of the shipping bag straight into the main tank!

What can I look for to see if this guys gonna make it? He seems to be wimming ok right now, but....

Yep, I think it'll be fine. He should pop out the next day and start eating within the week.

Great fish with loads of personality, very tough, one of my faves. Right, Chrispy?

I agree with the above. Make sure your water parameters are allgood, and don't worry about him :D :D

I would recommend feeding him real well. Starving fish don't survive for some reason. :x And in general, the better he is fed, the better he can fight off any ich he may get.

It'll most likely be fine, however I hope you have an enclosed top on your tank because the next time it jumps will not be so good. They are notorious carpet surfers.

3 hours later and he has started attacking the flatworms (the whole reason I got him). After researching him, Id get him even if I didn't have the flatworms. He's a pretty fish.

So he'll have a tendency to jump out?

I had a small 1"x1" hole in the back of my 180 for a pump cord. This was the only place that wasn't covered. My first 6 line found it and jumped to his death. Damn, I still feel bad about that.

Yes, he will jump out.

I had an eggcrate top on my 90 gal. It had one 3 by 4 inch hole cut in the top so I could feed without gunking up the eggcrate. I just set my PC light strip over the hole to keep it covered, the lights had a plexi shield on them that made a flat cover.

One time, ONE TIME! I forget to slide the lights back over the hole. In the morning I found my precious Halichoeres ornatissimus dried up on the floor.

I am still sad about losing that fish. He was really cool.
