Get the highest gpd unit you can afford. More gpd means more RO membrane. More membrane means longer life for the filter.

Don't get an RO membrane rated for more than 75gpd for household use. The pore size on those membranes is too large and it lets too many contaminants through.

Both. Get the biggest you can afford up to 75GPD but if you go higher than 75 GPD, get something with multiple 75 GPD membranes, not a 100GPD membrane.

For reference: 75GPD are around 98-99% rejection where 100GPD are usually in the low 90%s.

You will burn through DI resin 5-10x faster with the 90% rejection.
