I am using b-ionic to manage my alk and calcium and find that I need to dose more calcium then alk on a consistent basis. My alk is consistently a bit higher then seawater while I struggle to keep my calcium above 350

Is their impending doom in dosing one without the other to keep calcium high?

cheers

No impending doom. Normally it's ALK that needs to be additionally supplemented.

Check your Magnesium level and get some Calcium chloride. Use the CaCl to bump up your Calcium instead of the much more expensive B-Ionic.

It also never hurts to get a second opinion on your trace element levels (another test kit).

my magnesium is around 1450 ppm

is their a downside to using calcium chloride, provided i keep an eye on calcium and alkalinity lvls?
