Probably not for the BTA, maybe for an all fish tank. I dont know what a BTA needs for lights. In my 55 i have 130w of 10,000k & 130w of atinics. It is thriving, and when it opens up it takes almost half the tank. I say that the VHO are too soft for the BTA and Power Compacts are bright enough to use, that or MH. I use both on my 150 and it really works good for me. I use the VHO for dawn, all day and dusk. The PC come on for afternoon time.
