Hello,

I recently added another line to my RODI output, I used a T and valve for the John Guest poly tubing that has stainless steel teeth that sit out from the housing that locks the tubing in place.

My question is are these little stainless steel teeth going to pollute the RODI water in anyway? Does this make it unsafe for the reef tank? It would appear the water doesn't even come into contact with it but I can't be sure from just looking at it.

The package claims it is safe for drinking water and purified water but who knows, any thoughts? Thanks.

If it's all plastic in side, it should be okay. I'd go to Home Depot and pick up a $2.99 plastic T to be safe

It won't do squat, I use brass fittings myself, and brass has the evil copper element in it! :)

You're not going to get corrosion if you don't stick it in saltwater, and the miniscule time that water actually touches those fittings really isn't going to do much in the way of leeching any elements out, even for the time its in a holding tank.
