Hi,
I was at the LFS today and he was putting together a button polyp for me (It had been ill, and he was repairing it). Anyway, he used some type of coral glue/gel. I've seen here people talking about using a V. They had something called coral glue for sale for something like 18.00! Where can I get superglue gel from that's cheaper. Is it a home depot/walmart item? Any particular brand I should look for?

Sorry if this is redundant; I try the search feature in these forums, and I get some crazy search returns.

thanks,
Brian

Home Depot, Ace Hardware, etc., any brand of Super Glue Gel that contains Cyanoacrylate.
I've seen pkgs 2 for $3.00.

What? It's a valid question.

Duro brand is also nice and thick like the Loctite that LordNikon posted. I've used both. Stay away from that "Coral Glue", it's really thin compared to the Duro and Loctite. Krazy glue superglue gel is also really thin. Some people buy larger bottles of superglue gel and hobby shops, but I've never bought any so I can't comment on how thick it is.

I always just use the super glue gel that they sell in generic form at my grocery store.

It is really important you get the GEL though. I tried to use plain super glue once and it was a disaster.

PSST Duro is made by loctite. So I'm betting its the same stuff. Lowes has small tubes of thin stuff in the econo-pack. I've been looking for the gel 10 pack with no luck.

So I buy the 10g tube of Loctite gel.

Depends also....for connecting actual live rock together, I used the marineland epoxy/putty stuff. It works awesome for stacking rocks, and you work with it right in the water. It has a 7 minute working time once you mix the 2 parts together.

I used the 3rd stuff down, IC-Gel. Big tube, great price, no clogging!

Love the stuff, IC Gel is the only one I use now. Light years ahead of any other I've used.
