I know many of you have experinced this before, since acrylic aquariums are doomed to scratch. I have several small scratches on the inside of the tank (due to some rocks falling as well as scrubbing the algae of the tank) and some scratches on the outside. What should I do for each case. (If any for the inside)
  • Toothpaste-Any particular kind?
    Micro-Mesh
    Novus
    Anything else.????
I figure if any thing will help would be good to know. I just don't want to make it any worse.

Thanks
Brian

If you use the rainbow scratch removal kit or try any other method, make sure you practice on an area that isn't very visible or on a scrap piece of acrylic that has some scratches. The first time I tried using the rainbow kit I followed the instructions (starting with the coarsest pad first) and my acrylic tank ended up looking horrible no matter how hard I tried to remove the fine scratches that are created with their scratch removal pads. I am sure the rainbow kit can work well, but it definitely seems to take some experience to use it. Good luck.

I didn't start with the coarsest grain. But, my scratches were not very deep either. I started with the third from the smallest and worked my way down from there. Also, using the polishing liquid on the exterior is essential to removing any remaining minute scratches from the buffing process.
