I use either a junk credit card or my wife's Pampered Chef plastic scraper. I got in trouble for using the latter one though! ;)

My wife has a ton of those little pamper chef scrapers. I'm sure she will not miss one. Thanks.

I completely absolve myself of that suggestion if it turns ill on you! ;) My wife about went ballistic on me: "What do you mean you used my Pampered Cheff scraper on your fish tank??!!"

Consider yourself absolved. I snag kitchen tools from time to time and do not get to much grief for it. I always counter with "I could have gone out and bought what I need from the fish store. I'm sure it would have cost lots of $$$$."

I've got my own set of kitchen tools for my tank just because theres so many nasties that could turn ugly if things aren't properly cleaned up/cared for. - Its just not worth me or my kids getting a vibrio or other type of infection over ya know?

And I use an old company ID card to scrape my tank, same plastic as a credit card.

Just don't get caught using the pasta server as a back scratcher

I think the Kent Pro Scraper is a helluva tool. I'm one of those guys that tries to keep his hands out of the tank as much as possible.

I've already been caught doing that. I make sure it hits the wash before placing in back in the drawer.

i agree. their scraper is very good. (and i'm a competitor! shhhh!)

the scraper blade is sometimes too soft but better too soft than too hard (scratch!). their reach is also very good.

plus, it's so stylish!

If you aren't opposed to putting your hands in the tank, a new switch plate cover works really well, and I also like the Dawn submersible battery operated scrubber.

I'm sold on the ProScrpaer too with the extensions. The AquaMop scrubber option is great too for wiping down the sides of an acrylic tank that is deep. It was really hard to reach all spots in the tank to keep the sides and corners clean before!

I ended up using a plastic putty knife and a pampered chef scraper. Both worked well and cost me $0. I had the putty knife left over from a dry wall project. They came 3 to a pack and cost about $5 for the pack. My wife has a bunch of the pampered chef things and I "Borrowed" one.
