Stinkin' Damsel

Hi, I just bought a Purple Tang and my half-moon damsel will not leave it alone at all it nips at it and chases it and all my tang does is hide. Its making me really mad. I have tried everything to catch the idoit I mean EVERYTHING does anybody have any special tricks to catching fish I dont want to hurt the little guy but I hate him! :evil:

i have had noting but trouble catching damsels, and they are IMO one of the worst fish i have ever put into my tank. just does everyting to make a person mad. i had one for about a year i was gonna catch him that weekend with the lights out at night with a red flashlight and a net and a coathanger to kinda scare him into the net it had worked with other fish before. but came home and he was gone.. no sighn of him anywhere. made me feel alot better to :twisted:

You can try to just fish it out with a small barbless fishing hook baited with their normal food (say, fozen brine shrimp/mysis).

Alternatively you can feed them in the net. Eventually they'll get used to come to the net. After 1-2 days you'll just scoop it out. Same trick (but easier) with a clear fish trap (my LFS has them for about $20 each).

Mihai now that is just funny. I can just picture someone sitting on there sofa just fishing away in there tank.

I got him out! Thank god, I hate damsels I'll never buy another one. LoL Mihai I thought I might have to resort to that
