i receieved a nice amount of live rock from josh saul on this board, really awsome rock he had for 5 years but infested with these pesky anenomes. he recommended bi-ionic 1 alk i think for killing them, but i had very little time. after fighting with these anonomes for a week i was gonna dry the rock out. and just keep them as base rock.

i suddenly came up with a solution!

while i was doing another open dishnetwork box, i saw a anomes laughing at me, so far i counted 60 of them. i got so pissed i saw my soldering iron flaming with smoke. i took out a new radio shack soldering iron tip made of iron(you dont want copper) and started stabbing and laughing at the anenomes poping and oh the yummy BBQ seafood smell. i know im a majano anenomes pyro. to all you electronic guys out there this is the best way to kill anonomes by far. takes less then a sec of confirm kill and it's better then paying for joe's juice or injection of lye or even using kalk paste. I think this is the cheapest method of attack and the most fastest method of attack hehhe. This is gaurentee to kill off any pest anonomes(or life).

i know it is a stupid question...but did you take each rock out of the tank and burn em? did you put the soldering iron in the tank?

sounds like a good idea though. i've even heard of guys taking out the rocks and using thier lighters on the little buggers.

After trying kalk paste a couple of times and measuring outta sight calcium, my lfs suggested fw. So I tried boiling freshwater and it seems to have workes just as well. And I need to top off the tank anyway. So may as well do it in a way that kills the aptasia.

understand and it sounds like it would be very effective. I would have a problem with that (or just about anything else) because my aptasia are over all my rocks, the egg crate for the in tank refugium and in the refugium area also. So I have to hit what I can without taking the whole tank apart. And add pepermints to help also.

What I funny (now) I at first pictured you using the iron underwater. But you had to be smarter than that. :lol:

without breaking the aquascape, i thinkb est way is to use boiling hor ro/di water ro water usuually doesnt boil but reach to 100 degress F on ro will be efficent just i dont know if the syringe can handle the temp
