cyano on green star polyps

anyone have any suggestion on how to keep that red algae off of my green star polyps? it seems to be the only place that it pops up but it is choking them off.. ive tried blowing it off with my powerhead but i am afraid to mess with it too much and hurt the polyps..

Better to disturb them that way than leave the algae. Added current will help. What you really need to do is get your nutrient levels down...RO/DI for makeup and water changes, a refugium and/or a good skimmer.

Green star polyps should not mind having cyano blown off them, I find they appreciate higher current anyway.

You can buy a turkey baster to make it easier to blow them off. I would consider increasing flow to that area, in addition to the changes suggested above.
