Stop my ACRO's DEATH

So as most of you know I have had a horrible experience with Live Aquaria. As a result, one of the 3 issues was an Acro that was sent in horrible condition (see my other thread entitled, Live Aquaria Order...Oh No!) and is now dying. Does anyone know any suggestions on saving this coral. It had the appearance of death (missing flesh etc and that horrible UNCURED LIVE ROCK SMELL...THE SMELL OF DEATH) when I opened the bag that it was shipped in as it ended up being dry by the time I go it. Every other coral / acro in the tank is doing great just the Live Aquaria one that was dying when it arrived. Is this even possible to save? I have done a 25% water change with RO/DI saltwater, and am thinking of a Lugol's dip, but wasn't sure if it would even be worth it at this point sinc eit might stress the coral even more. My personal opinion it is dead no matter what, but any suggestions are welcome, thanks.

As I said in the other thread, you need to frag that coral ASAP! A lugols dip would be 50/50.

Yes, but....Frag = Warranty Voided For Sure


Even though it appears that Live Aquaria is not going to honor their own warranty (at the very least without a huge run around), I still do not want to give them any reason to not honor the warranty. Thank you though. Would you chance the Lugol's or prefer another method if any? Thanks again.

Just frag it and try to save it. Forget about them. You bought it so try save it.

I'd also recommend fragging right away. The longer you wait, the greater the risk you'll lose the whole colony. Lugol's dip will unlikely stem the tissue recession. You really have to frag it to save it.

Do your best to frag it a bit above any of the present recession, This will improve the frags chances. If you cant using U/W epoxy or superglue gel seal off the areas missing tissue on the frag to help prevent it from spreading.

Thanks Ben!!! I have never heard of doing that, and might try to use that method on any of the frags that continue to deteriorate after I frag it. Do you think this method would work if after I frag them they continue to deteriorate? Thanks again!!

Just say a piece of it broke or youll give back the frag if they honor their guarantee...
