So my RBTA has been in for maybe 2 months and had been looking great.. have to maroon golds hosting.

I have been feeding silversides bout once every 7 days or so.

Bout 2-3 weeks ago he moved under an overhang … seemed fine there but was in the shadow of the overhang and not receiving a lot of direct light.

Now he has moved completely into the shadow and isn’t eating… the silversides just bounce off without any reaction.

Any ideas.

cheers

I perfer feeding anemones every 2-3 days, and chopped food over whole silversides. Try chopping the silverside a bit smaller before feeding it. If it has lost it's sticky feeling I would try mysis basted onto its oral disc instead and be sure the fish dont eat it all off first.

(PREDICTION)

Hopefully I'm wrong, but I see this time after time on the board, and it HAS happend to ME! I hope I'm wrong but over the next month or so the RBTA may loose color, shrink down to very small, and look nearly dead! If this happens consider the possibility that the fish that it is hosting may be a pest instead of a blessing to the anemone.

I hope I'm wrong, but just in case it happens.. it may give you a heads up.

It may prepare to split. Just for your information my BTA shrinks to nothing periodically (about 1 a month) without any apparent reason then it recovers.
