I have a stalk of xania that appears to be shriviling. The trunk of the stalk is getting skinner and skinner. It is also a purplish color. Everything else is doing fine and my other xania don't show any change. Any ideas and should I move it to another tank and see how it does. It just starter doing it this week. Has been in this tank since december and had been growing well. I did frag a small portion about 3 weeks ago.

There is not much that can kill them, but they are a bell-weather of your tank water's quality. I find that (IME) they will grump and groan about every little swing in tank chemistry that happens. If they consistently look like they are unhappy (days and days), I would take some water to the LFS and get it tested. It is possible that you have a trace element out of whack or you have some inconsistancy with your existing test suite that is hiding a problem.

This is JUST my opinion. I would also hang out for any other advice.

I love these corals for both their appearance and their ability to tell me when I need to pay attention to the tank water.

I wish my xenia would look like that once in a while. :?

If it continues to look like that, and water params are fine, I would consider moving it.
