Durso standpipe users

IF it is flushing then you need to get more air. 1" pipe 600-700 gph.

Rob, the tube going to the sump isn't straight down, it's the overflow.

Just a 1" pvc pipe nothing more, nothing less. I think I'm getting close to 467 gph or so, if I did the did the math right. The top (inlet) of the pipe is 3/4 to 1" below the surface and has a nice little vortex of air going down with the water. I thought it was sucking in too much air and that's why it flushes on occassion.

Ok, so I don't get this plumbing stuff. Some one tell me what I need to do.

I thought you had a durso/stockman. I would add a stockman. I have pics in the link to my tank in my sig. I am not at home so I can not paste them fresh. I should cost less than $10 for all the fittings.

So Matt, your downpipe is perfectly perpendicular? I want to make sure I can either angle it or have it go straight down without problems.

Yup. It goes straight down to the sump with no bends at all. I wanted to make sure it could drain as much as possible because there are two surge devices.

Regarding the top...I have a little 1/2" vinyl tubing that goes down to the sump as pictured. It cuts the gurgling noise you get out the top of the Durso.

Both of these things make it super quiet.
