Ive had the lether for a couple months. when i bought it it was fine, tool a couple hours for it to open up but it did and did nicely. now, for atleast a month maybe alil more it hasnt opened up pretty much at all( polyp extension) and is drooping alot pretty jych hanging hanging from the rock. it is not as hard or stiff as it used to be and seem like the base is gettin skinnier and about to detach from the rock. i know the go through shedding phases and such but i dont htink this is the case. it has also not disintegrated, it still is in tact and is not mushy.....yet. its a 55 gal tank with about 300watts of pc. everythin else in the tank, fish and corals seem to be doing fine and growning. any input, anyone with same issues?

Actually it can hurt as much or more then it can help. Any issues with source water and salt mix will be magnified by doing this, but I doubt that is the problem.
I would check to see if there is any other coral or anemones that may have stung it. I have see that in mine with a tiny mushroom growing near the base of it. Some corals can also release chemicals into the water that may attack it. In that case activated carbon might help.

stinging wise i doubt it cuz theres nothing around it. chemically, maybe, ill have to add carbon and see if that helps but ive been running without carbon for a while cuz iu have some xenia and i heard that carbon absorbs some elements that xenia need. i might be wrong though.

temp
calcium
alkalinity
pH
and if possible, phosphate
What additives do you add to this tank? Do you use a dechlorinator? is there a skimmer? how old are your pc bulbs? is this a new tank, or an old tank? how deep is your sand bed? do you clean behind your rockwork now and then?
All of these things affect your water chemistry. Even unstable water parameters can cause problems with certain corals. We need as much info as possible so we can narrow down the problem for you, because it could be anything.
