I got a Crocea about a week ago, and I'm pretty sure it has a "pinched mantle". I've been reading about FW dipping as a temporary solution. I only put the clam in less than a week ago, and I don't think it's latched to the small rock I put it on top of yet. Should wait until it latches its foot on (how long should this take - I'm thinking the pinched mantle may delay or prevent the process?). Should I just take it out for a dip, or should I give it some more time?

I would also check for pyramid snails, but I'm not sure what to look for. I'm also not sure if the clam has too much flow. I'm pretty sure those are the only things that could be wrong.

Thanks

I wouldn't suggest the freshwater dip unless you are positive that it has pinched mantle. Freshwater dip is a drastic measure that could kill your clam and should be used as a last resort. Proceed with caution. ;)
