Glass-Cages--- any good?

Im thinking of buying a 50G tall from Glass-cages.com. Has anyone used them? I have heard they are pretty good, but I have also heard there jointery(sp?) isnt great... DO you have one? do you like it?
Also-- the tank im looking at is Acrylic 36x18x17.

My 300G is from Glass Cages and I like it.

It's not an Oceanic, but it only cost me $1430 including shipping Vs. $5700 for an Oceanic.

Oceanic is better if you got the bread.

I dont really want to spend 2x as much for the oceanic... This is an intermediate tank, probably for only 3-5 years before i step up over 100+ gallons. So Im not worried about a little loose silicone. I just want to make sure the tank is sturdy and not going to leak. Yours is glass right louey? Low iron?

Yes, mine is glass, low iron, and held together will silicone and euro-bracing.

The silicone was installed very neat a clean looking. I have no issue with the tank.

I haven't seen any of their Acrylic tanks, so I can't comment on that.

I just started skimming your tank thread.. very cool tank.. thank you for the thread, it will keep me busy for days!
I may go glass as long as shipping is still possible. I wanted acrylic so I could drill all my own holes, and maybe to install my own overflows too. I like the glass tanks with glass eurobracing.. thats awesome customization.

Have you considered a all-glass? Not the best out there, but well made and reasonably priced. If it is going to be for only a few years it should be fine.

If that 50 you're looking at is a standard size, I would think you could find something locally for not much money. I reef ready AGA couldn't be too expensive I woudn't think.

Actually, most RR tanks around here, around that size, are $150+ I really want the Oceanic 58G RR, but thats $200+ I am watching the want ads!

I've got the 38gallon tank (36x12x17) ...well, at least that is what he sells it as... it is really a 30 long... the front is nice with the curved corners, the back is a little sloppy - there are just 2 plastic strips glued in place on the outside to hide the seams... althoguh you don't really notice it if you spraypaint the back of it black... as far as the actual seams and all, it is pretty sloppy looking epoxy or something in the bottom, and at the back corners it is a little cleaner looking. I cut out the huge black center brace on mine because it was blocking my moonlight... without it the tank bowed out about 1/4" which from what i read is acceptable, but i ran some stainless steel cables from front to back to act as a brace... Also seems to scratch really easily compared to my other acrylic tank - an eclipse 12... Overall a decent tank, and it seems solid enough that i'm not worried about it failing, just a little sloppy looking without sand covering the bottom... and that center brace really sucks.....

oh yeah, almost forgot... the plastic "rim" or whatever you call it at the top is more than an inch thick on all sides so any hang on equipment you might have will require you to cut out a section of the rim for it to fit... not a big deal, but annoying.... really annoying if you already have water in the tank.... worked out for me when i was trimming a spot for my new skimmer with my recipro saw... lol water cooled blade, otherwise it would have binded and been a real mess....

I have a 220 and a 125 from them. 3 years plus. The silicon work has gotten much cleaner, but mine holds water and that's the important part. I was able to avoid shipping, by picking up at a show. I had to wait, but the price at the time was $530 for both. I would HIGHLY recomend them. Spend all the extra cash on live stock
