First off... I was wondering how long it will take a frag of GSP to "take root" to the rock i have it superglued to....2nd - I just got a really nice anthelia (sold to me as xenia) and was wondering how fast this stuff really spreads, the rock it is on has 3 about 3 or 4" tall stalks and i positioned it so that one of the new bulbs on one of them is in contact with another rock...Also.. It looked fine when i put it in yesterday but last night it started closing up a little bit... still healthy looking though... I'm assuming it is just a little pissed off from the move to the new tank still....normal? - and finally - is anthelia any harder to keep than a true xenia species?

My specs -
30gallon long
45# LR
96w pc lighting
coralife needlewheel super skimmer
plenty of flow...

Yeah, I would say its normal enough. Anthelia can grow like a weed, so watch out!

well, today the anthelia looks pretty bad.. it isn't opening up and the 3 main stalks are deteriorating where they connect to the rock, looks like it will be free floating by tommorow at this rate... any ideas?

96w over a 30Long
corallife needlewheel super skimmer 65gal
emperor 400 to run carbon
300 gph penguin powerhead - the anthelia is getting quite a bit of flow, but not excessive

no detectable ammonia, nitrites or nitrates and not dosing anything-
the only thing i can think of is that the acclimation was a little rushed because i had the bag open and was drip acclimating with a shot glass every 5 or so min then the tape holding the bag came loose and the bag went under... so at that point - about 20 or 30 minutes i just figured it was already in there.... not to mention the lfs water in my tank... my skin is still crawling...
