well, I added a nice rock w/ 3 - 3 or 4 inch stalks of anthelia to my tank a couple days ago - the acclimation got rushed when the bag i had taped open to drip water in came loose and went under into my tank... at that point i figured that damage was done and went ahead and tossed it in - I think it had about 20 min of mostly temp acclimation....and at first it was fine, but now the stalks themselves have deteriorated alot and the little "waving hands" are pretty much closed up and the arms are pretty limp... I moved it up higher in the tank today to see if that matters... yesterday i did a 20% WC .... ive got gsp and a finger leather of some type in the tank also and they couldn't look any better...
30G long, 96watt pc - very shallow tank though, so even 96w should have been enough with it on the bottom, coralife super skimmer, emperor 400 for carbon, 300 gph penguin powerhead - lots of movement for the anthelia everywhere in the tank... I don't dose anything and my nitrate,trite,and ammonia are undetectable, ph around 8.2-8.4 - sp. g 1.025
so... you think the coral is just pissed off at me for the acclimation screw up still? - i think today is the 4th day its been in the tank, or am I one of the lucky ones that can't keep this stuff alive?
