As I set up my new fishroom I am using my Aerofoamer on a 4 tank system that is about 300 gallons. That leaves me with a need for a skimmer on the 350 gallon system. Love the Aerofoamer, but what about the others? Who loves thier Euro-Reef, or other type? DYI plans, anything?

i am definitely a fan of the ASM skimmers. . . best bang for your buck. I have two of them and they work great! if money is no object then the Euroreef is probably the way to go.

Wish I could say it is no object... It wont be the desiding factor, but if the ASM is a better value I might go that way. I slao love finding the deal on e-bay so that will be part of the final answer as well.

I'm buying a Bubbleking next time myself. More up front, but much cheaper power. Just my choice.

ER is decent.

Go with an external if possible, whatever brand you choose. I think the recirc time makes a big difference.

I have to say, my Euro-Reef was worth the money. I thought for years that people were full of crap when they talked about Euro-Reef being as good as they are, especially for the price. But I'm literally emptying the cup once every 4-5 days on mine, and I don't even have a stocked up tank yet! It really rocks.

Good luck with your choice.

Having always being a fan of the turboflotor range. Since moving to the u/s there is so many brands of which i have no experiance with :x I am now using a euro reef copy from ebay which after 2 days is banging the muck out. I moded the intake instead of soft piping i plumbed it direct to the skimmer. Plus i am using an aquac 120. This was running for 5 days before it settled down but this looks to be a winner also. I have got a reef creations mc2 large skimmer for my new system tho. Plus not to get into the size thing
