Refugium in the basement

I have no room at all to put a refugium near or underneath my tank. Is it possible to have the refugium in the basement below the tank. Sump would still remain right below the tank.

Yes, you need a pressure rated pump though.

If you can plumb to your basement, you've got a great deal going for ya You can get a huge refugium and you're display tank will thank you for it.

I've always been put off by basement refugiums just from the sheer amount of power any return pump will end up using, regardless of how much flow it has.
