Ok, so I have had my skimmer for a few months and I don't think it is working to it's highest potential. I have a Red Sea Prizm. Anyone out there have the same one and if so what are your comments? If I were to change it, what would be a good purchase? Not to expensive but good for a 55gl reef.

thanks

I used a CPR BAK 2 r on my 55g and it worked great. It is rated for a 60 but I wouldn't put it past a 55g. I have one on my 46 right now. I am a repeat customer for them because tehy work well for me. If you are ever planning on upgrading your tank though I would go with something else.

Red Sea Prizm skimmers are junk. I bought one as my first skimmer and was constantly fiddling with it trying to adjust it. Add the fact that while cleaning it, the cheap plastic it's made of cracked, I should have just taken the money I used to buy it and tossed it out the window. IMO, you'd be better off going with an Aqua C Remora or Remora Pro, or an CPR Bak Pak 2R.
