i heard alot lately about people having their drains plumbed directly into their skimmers. could somone direct me to some skimmers that have this capability?
thanks.
Almost any skimmer with easily accessible skimmer cup can drained. It just involve a hole on the skimmer cup that let the skimmate flow down into a bigger container. Examples are various AquaC skimmers, among others.
sorry, i guess i wasn't clear enough. what i meant was having the main tank drain plumbed directly into the skimmer. does this require a recirculating skimmer?
IMHO, these setup is not really useful since unless the feeding drain is sufficiently strong, a pump is necessary for good skimmering. If the recirculation rate is fast enough (most are for reef setup), there is little advantage to make sure every single drop of water goes thru the skimmer before heading to the sump. Just my two cents.
