These infections are very opportunistic- attacking open wounds. Do the people who wear gloves also wear a dry suit when Snorkeling or Scuba diving? LoL

Okay, don't wear gloves. Just trying to spare folks some pain, but obviously, you all want to take your chances. Good luck!

When I first set up my tank I was rearranging frags and what not, and I had small scratches on my hand. The next day I went to work and nearly collapsed. I couldn't stand up under my own power. Luckily it passed fairly quickly and I only needed some antibiotics from my doctor. I swear it felt like Mike Tyson was punching my kidneys repeatedley.

That was a few years ago and I haven't been through anything like that since luckily. I sure as heck think about it when I have my hands in there now.

Aww, just havin fun. Thanks for the warning. Its a good thing to keep in mind when working on the tank especially with open wounds. I hope your friend will be OK
