She's got something growing around her mouth... It showed up the day after I rearranged my live rock. I think all the detritus and pollution that was stirred up when I did the rearranging may have triggered it.

At the moment she's in a quarantine tank and I'm slowly lowering salinity. It's about 1.018.

looks like shes qtd. If it happend after u rearranged rocks it may just be stress related. Fins look a bit ragged too.

how long have u had the fish?

keep in mind sometimes it best to just let the fish heal. I'm not huge into altering salinity... fw dips ect... unless you know exactly whats wrong.

I've had her about a week. The only reason I'm a bit concerned about an infection is because a few others from the LFS with her came down with some kind of infection and a few died. The LFS owner isn't sure what it is.

You may want to take it back to the store before it croaks. Chances are if several fish from the same tank died of it.. this one isnt far behind. Not sure where u are, but try to find a nice lil mom'n pop shop to deal with.

Not to Hijack the thread, Snowman what store did you frequent in atlanta? I have been to cap bay a few times and really like it. Are there any better?

well, the problem is that this was from a little mom n pop store which I trust very much... this was a little more my fault because when I bought her, she had just came in the same day and normally the store owner wouldn't sell unadjusted fish like that but I kinda talked him into it  Oh well, she's got something now and all I can do is try to treat her... Any suggestions?

Live brine, live mysis, or some small pieces of frozen/thawed beefheart soaked in garlic. If she dosent touch that then the out come may be grim. :( you could buy a nice little rubbery anemone for her to"nest" into while she's in that QT tank. That may help her calm down and adjust some? Give her some security maybe?
