How to Stop It?

I've been having some sort of growth on an orange cap.montipora.Seems to be spreading and slowly smoothering the monti. and possibly killing it.Ive cleaned it in the past w a toothbrush but it grows back.
Its growing on the edges looks likes very short napped hair,brownish/red in color.Aslo seems to be thriving on the discharge on the powerhead.Its only affecting this coral.

Can this be saved?Note that it is also on a sm piece of branching digitata

I can't tell what it is from your photo, but it looks like both corals are too close to the output of your powerhead.
I would break off the damaged parts/branch, move the powerhead, and see if the invading organism returns.

I second the suggestion. Either carefully break off the afflicated portion by hand or use a clean scissor (the form looks thin enough to cut).

Did this brownish red stuff happen to have bubbles in it? Might be a type of cyano bacteria, if it comes off easy I'd almost bet money on it, if it comes off more difficult, just some other type of algae.

No bubbles at all.It is also growing on the inside of the discharge pipe.All coral in the tank were sm frags that grew out.The orange cap grew around the pump itself.IS the pump causing or aiding to this algae problem.
I like the added flow.
