Lately (last 2 weeks or so) I'm not getting email notifications when people reply to my post. I checked my settings and they are unchanged (notify of replies).

I get emails from other places at the email address... so it's a bug in RDO? Is it my problem?

Yeah I'd check your spam filter...every time Yahoo upgrades software I have to watch out for topic notifications being shuttled into that folder.

Nope, my spam fiter on this account is disabled, so it's not spam. I seem to get all other emails for this account (from ebay for example). I'm bummed...

Delete you cookies

Sometimes that helps.

You know what's the funny thing? I don't seem to have a cookie from www.reefs.org. On the other hand I don't know how can I not have one as it automatically logs me in...

Something is fishy in here...

Weird. There's a cookie in there somewhere if it's logging you in :) perhaps no "www" prefix?

Why even bother looking?

Here is my advice.

Delete all cookies, delete all temporary files in all temporary directories.

If you are running win XP they stick some of them in a folder called Temp (the sneaky bastiges) so delete that too.

That is what I do on a regular basis.

OK, deleted all cookies and emptied the cache. And the reefs.org cookie just showed up. Let's see if this will do the trick. Can you please reply some nonsense just to see if I get the email? :)

BTW, I run Safari on a MAC.

Thanks,
M.

FWIW, It's not a rdo cookie. Its a phpBB2 cookie. so it would be a <insert your username>@phpbb2[N].txt, where N - is a number.

Standard Location: C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Cookies

Sorry, nope it's not working despite founding the cookie (it is for www.reefs.org and it is in phpBB2. There are actually two cookies, one named reefsorg_t (with no expiration) and the other one reefsorg_data with expiration on Jan 4th... Those cookies were completely missing last time, although it doesn't seem to make a difference. I'll try Firefox (and IE on a Windows machine to see if it's from the browser). If it still doesn't work I'll try to change the email address to see if that fixes it. If it still doesn't work, it's from RDO :).

FYI this AM we found that the reverse DNS wasn't resolving to www.reefs.org. I've opened a ticket at our hosting company to fix this problem. A certain number of mail servers reject emails when the sender does not have a correct reverse DNS entry so this might have been the problem.

Try again in a couple hours and let us know.

This may be it! My email server is roadrunner (nc.rr.com).

Can you let me know when it's good to try again? I was just about to say that it still doesn't work.

Thanks,
Mihai

They said it would take a couple hours for it to propagate. I'd give it a day or two and see if things start to work.
