THESE HAVE ALMOST TAKEN OVER OUR 30 GALLON REEF. THESE ARE ALL HITCHERS' PRETTY AND ARE OF 3 DIFFERENT SHADES OF PINK/TAN
THE PICTURE OF THE 'LEATHER LOOKING CORAL' IN MY PREVIOUS POST IS ONLY 1 MONTH OLD.
THE REEF IS 3 YEARS OLD AND HAS NEVER BEEN SEEDED.

I think what you have there is hydroids. They grow like crazy and can sting and chocke out corals it comes in contact with. If it's isolated, I recommend you remove the rock(s) it's on. Sorry to bring you the bad news, but at least you catch the problem before it takes over the tank. I am certain it is not goniopora.

Those are hydroids. I have patches here and there. Kalking them like aiptasia will work.

Please take the CAPS LOCKS off. It signifies screaming on the Post. Plus it hurts the eyes.

I am not entirely certain those are hydroids. I have a species of colonial polyp that looks similar and they also spread like crazy, but they have harmed nothing in my tank that I can see. Just FYI. Try and get some closer-up pictures if you can before you throw out a bunch of expensive rock.

I'd throw the rock in a 10gal by itself. I had a rock w/tons of hydroids and got lucky. Some of em were Upside down jellyfish. :)
