For atleast 6 months I've noticed that the coraline algae on my tank has slowly disappeared. I first noticed it when I switch from 33 gal tank to a 20 gal. The lights went from VHO to PC. I thought maybe the change in light was the problem, but time didn't seem to solve the problem. I though it was rebounding a month ago on the coral rubble I use as the bed, but that soon disapppeared. My only thought are the lights, because the sides of the LR that do not face up are covered in coraline and the side facing the lights are plain looking rock. The pc ligh is older so I thought it would be safe. The colals don't seem to mind, however the shrooms don't extend out like they use to. I have to recheck my Ca tonight, but my alk shows 3.5 meq/l right now. Any ideas. Thanks.

Also, check the magnesium levels.
For healthy corraline growth I have found you need good alkalinity with ca above 400 and magnesium close to natural levels...1300

I have noticed that my coralline dies of in some spots, then grows back even stronger.
