id like to start selling coral using an online site ( no store front)
what type of permits are needed for selling coral if any?
i plan to sell coral that is hard to find that i have fraged ( as ssoon as my new tank is up and running)

As long as the coral is not restricted species, or collected illegally, there is little restriction if you do it as a hobbyist, AFAIK. If you do a large operation, you may need a business license from your city, and deal with tax, building permit, insurance, etc., related to business.

As seven said nothing for being a hobbyist. However if you plan in get big, import for resale, ect ect You will need more. Most importers want you to have a wholesale licence before they will except you as a customer. Most major cities have some sort of small buisness web sites to help you get started. Here is a link that has a lot of info if you are going to be an actual buisness.

For what it is worth you can run a home based buisness at a loss for 3 years before the IRS calls it a hobby.

yeah sadly floridas site is no help lol

but like will i need anything to ship coral cross state lines. this new snail thing got me thinking. if theywant permits with these what would you need for coral. and what if a snail is found on the coral. O_O anyways this is somthing i really want to do ( currently out of house someday maybe rent a small wharehouse or somthing)

Dip your coral in 10% bleach solution and dry it completely to make sure there is no snail alive before shipping... :wink:
