The XM 10K should be fine on the standard ballast - that's what it's intended for.
As mentioned earlier, you might also check Sanjay's data. Go to his site and select your ballast - you'll get results of all lamps he's tested it with: http://www.reeflightinginfo.arvixe.com/
The problem with that comparision is it uses the PFO ballast as its sole ballast. That's great if you use the PFO ballast, but the color and PAR can differ dramatically if you use another ballast.

I agree, but lucky for me I'm using the PFO Ballast. Just thought it was a neat way to really be able to see what different bulbs can do to the look fo your tank.
