I have two yellow-tailed blue damsels and one is pretty aggressive! I was planning to get some shrimp but will they eat my shrimp? I'm getting peppermint shrimp!

Sorry no one has answered your post. Not real sure I think most damsels are primarily herbavors, but you might get more responses if you put this in the new reefkeeper, or general reefkeeping forums.

By the way :welcome:

How small of shrimp, and how big are the damsels? I never had my damsels eat any of my inverts, but if they're small enough, maybe?

Um, you won't be getting answers here in 5 minutes. Patience, young padawan.

I would expect peppermints to be fine. How big are the damsels?

Damsels will not eat your shrimps. I had 4 (2 humbugs, 1 blue devil, 1 yellowtail ) of them with 2 cleaner shrimps with no harrasment whatsoever. You should be fine.

Damsels will not usually bother shrimp.

"territory" fighting is usually when a confrontation will occur....ie a 4 stripe damsel wants to call a cave his own...except a CBS is there. I can see a problem in a situation like this.

I had a psychotic yellow tail damsel who went after anything that moved (slowly or otherwise) in my tank. He destroyed my engineer's "fortresses" and was knocking hermit crabs and snails off walls and rocks like it was a dodgeball tournament. Nothing is absolute, no telling what a demonic damsel might do.
